Magical Memories Entertainment brought out 5 fun carnival games with an attendant, set up tables, and ran a 50-person giveaway that kept everyone engaged and smiling🎉 The seniors and everyone who attended had such a great time, you could really feel the energy and excitement throughout the event. It was such a joy to be part of a day that brought the community together with laughter, fun, and friendly competition ❤️ Big thanks to Stonebridge At Montgomery for having us!
I have attended 2 events at Stonebridge. The first was an overview which was the most detailed presentation I have heard from a residence like this. The second was a panel of residents each addressing a different aspect of life there. They took all questions with no time limit and seem very caring and sincere. I have yet to see a residence but hope to soon and also learn about their continuing care program which is very important.
I have lived at Stonebridge for over nine years. My wife had Alzheimer's Disease and, after living with me in our cottage for just over one year, she transferred to the memory care unit. This seemed to be an easy transition for her. For a number of months, I was able to bring her to the dining room with me for dinner. She enjoyed the activities and camaraderie and care she received. When she passed away, I had to decide what I wanted to do. I was almost 75 years old at that time. I quickly realized that this was a great place for me to live because of the ability to be active in this community and to benefit from the social interactions of the many interesting residents. I have never regretted that decision.
My wife, Nancy, and I moved into a cottage at Stonebridge at Montgomery in 2006. We were in good health at the time and while we enjoyed all the amenities provided, we were not at a point where we needed them. We both became very active in the community, participated in the Residents Association, volunteered our time for various causes and made some wonderful friends. Over time Nancy's health declined and in early 2021 she moved into Taylor Commons, the memory unit. I remained in the cottage, and was able to visit her every day: it was just a short walk away. The following year further health problems made it necessary for her to move into Skilled Nursing, where I continued to visit her daily. She died there in January, 2023. In both units she received very good care: the staff was caring and very responsive to any concerns we had. Had we not been in a full service community, none of the moves from one level of care to another mentioned above would have been possible. I shudder to think of the stress which would have resulted had we needed to search for some new facility each time Nancy's health needs changed. Stonebridge is an excellent community. It has a good reputation, is financially sound and the management and staff are very well qualified and helpful. And, very important, the residents are an amazing group of people. At this stage of life, I am so grateful to be at home at Stonebridge. I am content, well cared for, and at peace. David Mulford
I was impressed with Stonebridge at Montgomery when in 2013, I drove an elderly friend to visit a resident who lived there. Surrounded by preserved open space and beautiful landscaped grounds, the main entrance reminded me of a luxury hotel or a grand lodge - I wasn’t sure we were at the right place. Stonebridge was simply unlike any senior citizen home I had ever seen before! Since that time, my husband and I have attended several events, taken a tour of three beautifully designed, well-appointed apartments and one gorgeous cottage, and met with a sales counselor. The benefits of living in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) are numerous. Aging in a place where you are not a burden to your family is peace of mind. I can see us growing old peacefully while enjoying life to the fullest with all of the amenities and activities that are offered. Everything is taken care of, from weekly housekeeping to daily meals to home maintenance - that means you can expect to live not only comfortably but to live well. And having in-community access to health care, assisted living and memory care is great - it beats scrambling around to find a place at the worst possible moment. I love the people we’ve met during our visits - everyone is welcoming, helpful and excited about what they have to offer. There’s no sales pressure and information is readily shared and explained. But perhaps the best indicator of how lovely Stonebridge at Montgomery is are its residents. We have consistently heard positive feedback from people we’ve talked to and everyone looks happy. We are pretty sure that Stonebridge is where we want to be!
